Hyundai forklifts like Scottish whisky

The Robert Purvis Group, a Scottish Hyundai dealer and a specialist for construction, recycling and haulage needs, has supplied 16 forklift trucks to the Starlaw distillery in Bathgate (Scotland), which is operated by Glen Turner.

The distillery’s fleet already includes ten 3.5 t 35B-9U units for distribution warehouses and six explosion-proof 5 t 50B-9 units for cask handling. Both are equipped with heatable cabins and explosion-proof forks. The 5 t forklifts, upgraded by Pyrobane for ATEX 3G compliance, are used in maturation basements, where they are exposed to volatile vapours.

The 5 t 50B-9U forklifts can stack casks in seven layers, thanks to their 7.5 m lifting height. The ten less powerful ones operate with a 5.5 m lifting height. Hyundai’s ‘HiMate’ monitoring system enables zone control, maintenance alerts and fault reporting. (js)
