Hupac extends terminal fleet in Italy
Hupac has added a new shunting locomotive to boost train-in/train-out services at its intermodal terminal in Busto Arsizio and Piacenza. The Swiss combined transport specialist manages eight shunting locomotives at its Italian transload facilities in the Busto Arsizio, Pordenone, and Piacenza terminals, as well as four mainline locomotives for short distance traffic between terminals and workshops in northern Italy.
The shunting locomotives operate around the clock and are managed by a team of 40 drivers. The additional unit is crucial for increasing the resilience and productivity of the terminals - a much-needed measure to ensure service stability and counteract the increasing irregularity of train arrivals, Hupac said in a post on Linked-In.
