Hub for storage, handling, sea and land freight
DB Schenker has opened a new location at the Port of Rostock, in a significant expansion of its services in northern Germany. The new terminal combines warehousing, transhipment, sea freight and land transport in one hub, which simplifies and speeds up logistics and cargo handling, says DB Schenker.
The new location has a hall area of 20,000 sqm for storage and handling. A photovoltaic system on the roof of the terminal generates energy for the site, and seven charging points for e-vehicles are also available on the premises. The logistics centre is aiming for certification according to the DGNB Gold Standard for sustainable building. (ben)
