Hub for green battery logistics in operation

DB Cargo and Mercedes-Benz have opened an automotive logistics centre near the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen in Germany. It is to serve as a climate-neutral hub for transporting the battery systems of the new Mercedes EQ model EQE.

DB Cargo is now using carbon neutral trains to transport the systems from the Hedelfingen plant in Stuttgart over a distance of around 650 km to Bremen and deliver them to the manufacturer's assembly line.

With the new logistics centre, DB Cargo can shunt and unload the trains in immediate vicinity to the factory halls. (ben)
