Higher freight volumes in Brazil and Spain


In 2024 the airports in the Aena Group (46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London Luton airport and 17 airports in Brazil) handled more than 1,42 million t of freight, 18% more than in the year before.

 

The airports in Aena’s network in Spain handled 1.28 million t of freight (+19%) – more than ever before. All-time records fell in Madrid, with almost 767,000 t (+19%) and Barcelona with almost 182,000 t (+16%). They were followed by hubs in Zaragoza, with more than 181,000 t (+40%), and Vitoria (more than 70,000 t; –1.7%).

 

In Brazil the group of six ANB airports closed 2024 with 58,800 t of freight (+10%), of which almost 48,000 t corresponded to Recife airport (+9%). Boab’s group of eleven airports recorded more than 52,000 t of freight (+16%); at Congonhas airport in São Paulo, almost 43,000 t were handled (+17%). (ah)
