Higher capacity and lower flying level
EFW delivered another A330-300P2F last week. This airplane is special - not only because it is a "triple 7" Airbus aircraft (serial number MSN777) but also because it will be the first high gross weight (HGW) converted A330-300 with a gross payload of more than 62 t on the market.
It is the first of 12 ordered by DHL, with three being delivered during 2020. Concerning new built Airbus aircraft, the A400M airlifter has achieved a new decisive milestone after the certification of its automatic low level flight capability, "offering a unique in its class capability for a military transport aircraft".
The certification campaign, performed above the Pyrenees and central France, involved operations down to 500ft (152.4 m), including transitions from low level flight to other operations like aerial delivery. (ah)
