ZIM has reported its latest consolidated results: The Haifa-based carrier handled 884,000 teu in Q3/2021, an increase of 16% compared to the same period last year. Revenues were at USD 3.14 billion, an uptick of 210% compared to the USD 1.01 billion in Q3/2020.
Adjusted ebitda for the Q3/2021 amounted to USD 2.08 billion, compared to USD 262 million in Q3/2020. Operating income (ebit) for Q3/2021 was USD 1.86 billion, compared to USD 189 million in Q3/2020.
In its report, ZIM underlined that it had signed a strategic long-term chartering agreement and option exercise with Seaspan for a total of fifteen 7,000 teu LNG-fuelled vessels. In Q3/2021, ZIM purchased eight second-hand vessels for a total consideration of approximately USD 355 million. (sh)
