HGK adds two e-trucks


The logistics service provider HGK Logistics and Intermodal (HGK LI) in Cologne, Germany, has put two battery-electric 40 t tractor units into operation. The two Volvo vehicles have a range of up to 300 km and will be used for shuttle runs at the Ladenburg site in Baden-Württemberg (Germany) for a customer in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Fulled with electricity from HGK LI's own photovoltaic system on the roofs of its three halls, the Volvo FH e-trucks are are intended to help the city of Cologne become climate-neutral by 2035. HGK LI is a subsidiary of Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln, which is part of the Stadtwerke Köln Group. (ben)
