H.Esser moves into Italy's healthcare market
Logistics provider H.Essers is acquiring Romano Transporti. The Italian road haulage company operates nationally and internationally with a special focus on the healthcare sector. For H.Essers, the takeover is part of its strategy to expand its healthcare logistics network in Italy.
Romano Trasporti is a Roman family business with homebase near Naples. The carrier employs 120 people and owns a fleet of 95 trucks and 100 temperature-controlled trailers.
Joris Mertens, business unit manager healthcare transport at H.Essers: “Romano Trasporti’s logistics network and transport activities complement ours, with our cross dock in Milan, for example. Romano Trasporti’s headquarters are also close to Nola’s train terminal, which means we can fully commit to our synchromodal approach and rail as an alternative to road transport.” (mk)
