Hendrik Kramer wins logistics award
The jury of the Logistics Hall of Fame has named Hendrik Kramer “Logistics Leader of the Year”. The award, presented by the Logistics Hall of Fame and donated by Still, a Hamburg-based specialist for battery and fuel-cell powered technologies, recognises Kramer’s vision of “human-assisted autonomy” in road haulage and its successful implementation.
Kramer, CEO and co-founder of Fernride, has established an innovative automation solution for the mobility of commercial vehicles on the market that allows trucks to be moved without a driver.
Fernride combines autonomous driving technology with human intelligence in a hybrid system. Like a control tower in aviation, remote operators monitor several vehicles simultaneously and can intervene if necessary. (cj)
