Hellmann opens first Swiss direct load branch
Since the beginning of June, the logistics services provider has been dispatching partial and full truck loads from Kloten between all European countries and Switzerland. Hellmann is thus taking another important step in expanding its market presence in Switzerland beyond its air and sea freight portfolio.
Additionally, the company is enhancing its direct load activities in the European network, which already includes more than 40 locations in nine other European countries. To strengthen Hellmann's operations in the Swiss market, Christian Wanner joined the company as the new head of Direct Load Switzerland in May 2023.
As part of its global growth strategy, Hellmann has already invested in the Direct Load network in recent years – most recently in February 2023 with the opening of the branch in Kufstein, Austria, and previous inaugurations in France, the Netherlands, the Benelux countries, and Czechia, among others.
Due to country’s central location between France, Italy, Austria and Germany, the move into Switzerland with the new branch in Kloten allows the company to open up another important market in the heart of Europe, Hellmann said. (ben)
