Haulier lands big intermodal contract
J.B. Hunt has entered into a multi-year intermodal service agreement with its long-term partner Walmart, whereby it will acquire the retailer’s rational intermodal container and chassis fleets.
The North American haulier is a specialist in converting over-the-road shipments to intermodal and operates one of the world’s largest company-owned intermodal fleets for domestic and international freight transport.
J.B. Hunt and its partner BNSF Railway launched the intermodal service Quantum in 2023. They also created a new service option to support cross-border freight movement to and from Mexico with coast-to-coast access within the USA. (ben)
