"Hard" October at US customs
Earlier this month, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Chicago seized a shipment containing 15,000 tablets marked and packaged as Viagra 100 mg tablets (photo) and varying brands of honey mixed with Sildenafil.
The consignment was shipped by a company in Istanbul (Turkey) and was heading to Michigan. If the pills were real and approved by the FDA, the MSRP would have been USD 1,065,000.
Over the long second weekend of the month, CBP officers in Puerto Rico also seized 960 tablets of counterfeit Viagra 100 mg (USD 68,160), cocaine (USD 100,126) and undeclared currency (USD 29,400) inside several packages that were inspected over the long weekend at the air cargo facilities at the Luis Munoz Marin (SJU) and Rafael Hernández (BQN) international airports serving San Juan and Aguadilla.
