Hapag Lloyd sustainability reports includes SDG
The Hamburg-based shipping company Hapag-Lloyd transports around 12 million containers a year with its fleet of 227 ships. The carrier’s current sustainability report entitled “Gathering Pace Together” also includes the legally required non-financial report.
Hapag-Lloyd's sustainability-related activities deal with topics such as combatting, employee matters and data protection. The carrier also presents its environmental goals for the years ahead, including those that relate to the introduction of the global fuel standard IMO 2020.
For this year’s sustainability report, Hapag-Lloyd incorporated the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations for the first time. The shipping company’s activities contribute to six of the 17 overall goals. (kd)
