Hapag-Lloyd promotes Stuart Sandlin
Hapag-Lloyd has appointed Stuart Sandlin to replace Uffe Ostergaard as president of its North America region. Sandlin, who is currently senior vice president (SVP) of sales for USA, will assume his new role on 1 January 2023, while Ostergaard will leave Hapag Lloyd to take up another management position in USA.
Sandlin can look back on a long career at Hapag-Lloyd. After joining the company in 2001 as sales executive in Atlanta, Georgia, he has held several management positions in USA and Germany.
In 2015, he left Hapag-Lloyd to become president North America for the United Arab Shipping Company (UASC). When Hapag-Lloyd acquired UASC in 2017, Sandlin returned to the company and assumed his current position as SVP area United States. (cj)
