Hapag-Lloyd & Norsul team up
Hapag-Lloyd and Norsul have joined forces to establish Norcoast, a new Brazilian coastal shipping company. This venture aims to tap into the growing Brazilian coastal transport sector, which handled over 1.2 million teu in 2022.
Norcoast will provide integrated logistics and efficient solutions to cater to the rising demand in Brazil's coastal shipping market.
The partnership was approved by Brazil's national competition regulator, Cade, and the request to operate as a Brazilian shipping company (EBN) received approval from the bBoard of directors of the Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários (ANTAQ).
Gustavo Paschoa, CEO of Norcoast, will lead the new joint venture, bringing extensive experience in the Brazilian transport and logistics sector. The start of operations is planned for Q1/2024. (pb)
