Hactl ups DG training standards
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), which gained the status as an ‘Iata accredited training school’ in 2003, has become the first cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to achieve Iata’s new competence-based training and assessment (CBTA) centre certification.
Following an agreement by the Icao dangerous goods panel in September 2019, Iata dangerous goods training has been evolving from traditional learning to the new, skills and competence-based training and assessment format. The 63rd edition of the Iata Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) includes CBTA guidance, which will become mandatory from 1 January 2023.
Brendan Sullivan, Iata’s global head of cargo said that “we’re delighted that Hactl has become an early adopter of the new CBTA training format. This achievement is testament to its commitment to provide effective training to its workforce.” (ah)
