GXO's newest robot fleet
GXO Logistics has put 500 autonomous mobile robots into service at one of its sites, aiming to enhance its operations for a sporting goods retailer.
On 12,000 sqm at the hub, the robots are part of a tote-to-person solution and used for picking activities. They handle 70,000 bins on 5.5 m tall storage racks, thus improving productivity and accuracy.
One benefit of the lightweight robots is also the flexibility it offers GXO: they can be easily moved around according to seasonal changes and current needs. In 2023, GXO increased its total tech and automated systems by about 50% year over year. It is set to continue on its strategic automation path.
