GW in Austr(al)ia
Gebrüder Weiss (GW) has been keeping busy over the New Year, from artwork transportation in Austria to new expansions in Australia.
In December 2023, the company transported Barbara Anna Husar’s atelier from Vienna to Bludenz. The Austrian artist’s fragile artwork was shipped via Orange Combi Cargo, a railfreight service that GW has been providing for 15 years in the region.
GW also opened a new air & sea office in Brisbane, Australia. The city’s container port has a record throughput of 1.56 million standard containers (2022). GW will provide air and sea transport, customs clearance and customised logistics mixes tailored for the engineering, agriculture, and medical equipment sectors.
More hubs in the North and West of Australia are in the pipeline to complement GW’s existing four offices in Australia and two New Zealand locations. (mk)
