Growing demand for services to Scandinavia
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is further expanding its Transfer network northwards: from now on, the company will operate three weekly roundtrips for wagonload traffic between Linz (Austria), Scandinavia and Wels (Austria).
Since the beginning of the year, RCG has been shipping goods from Linz via Rheinkamp (near Duisburg, Germany) to Malmö in Sweden and back to Wels. The load factor has been steadily increasing since the start of the service, particularly for the transport of steel, paper and consumer goods. This is the reason why RCG has now raised the frequency of trains on this route.
With the Linz-Scandinavia-Wels Transfer service, the Austrian railfreight company has created a reliable and safe transport solution to and from Scandinavia with further connections to destinations in Northern and Western Europe. (ben)
