Groupe Pierre in Belgium sold
In order to widen its pharmaceutical logistics services, the Japanese player Yusen Logistics has acquired the Groupe Pierre in Belgium. The group, based in the Walloon Brabant region, consists of the three units Transports Pierre (GDP-certified overland transport), Pierre Logistic (warehousing) and Ajimex, time-critical and temperature-controlled shipment management.
Since its foundation in 1924 as Transports Alphonse Pierre the company has expanded and grown to about 125 employees operating more than 20,000 sqm of warehousing space and 160 trucks and trailers. Sellers are the family, Olivier Pierre and his brother, after three generations of family members previously ran the business. (sh)
