Groupage shipments across the big pond
German logistics provider Nosta is expanding its sea and air freight services to USA and introducing transatlantic groupage services for this purpose.
The part loads are transported by ship or aircraft. The company is responsible for all cargo handling, including customs clearance, between the German seaports and airports of Hamburg/Frankfurt and the North American Nosta warehouse in Chicago.
The new offer also includes seamless end-to-end delivery with connection services for the last mile as well as optimal transit times for the various products.
Nosta’s first own collection container was recently packed and shipped to USA. Since then, one to two 40-foot highcube containers with consolidated goods from all over Europe have been making the weekly journey from Hamburg to Chicago for distribution in the USA’s Midwest.
Nosta is already preparing for a further expansion of its services. Currently, plans are underway for similar intercontinental services for groupage shipments to Central America, the company reports. (ben)
