Grendi Group pushy in 2021
The Genoa-based Gruppo Grendi’s performance improved in 2021, with turnover surging to EUR 68.6 million (+19% compared to 2020). Since the group established its home port in the terminal of Marina di Carrara, between La Spezia and Livorno, in 2016, it has doubled its turnover from the EUR 33.8 million registered in 2016.
Cargo handled in the group’s terminals in Marina di Carrara, Olbia and Cagliari in 2021 amounted to 148,800 teu, plus more than 30,000 teu of international containerised traffic.
Antonio Musso, CEO of Grendi Trasporti Marittimi, the Gruppo Grendi entity that coordinates liner services and terminal operations, pointed out that “an investment programme focusing on warehousing, terminals and equipment and worth approximately EUR 4.7 million (7% of turnover) helped develop the group’s activities in 2021. Our goal was to invest 10% of turnover at the end of the current year, as part of our EUR 22 million five-year investment programme for 2019–2023.” (sh)
