Greener transport for Formula 1 equipment
Ceva Logistics completed the transport of Ferrari equipment between three of the North American F1 grand prix races in two steps. First, in 2022, six separate 45 t equipment kits were moved from air freight to a combination of ocean and road freight, and rail transport was added in 2023.
Packed in six 16 m containers, the race equipment travelled 3,200 km from Montreal, Canada, to Austin, Texas, and will travel another 3,200 km from Austin to Las Vegas, Nevada.
With the incorporated rail segments between the three North American F1 races, the two companies reduce carbon emissions by 90% compared to the journey by air and 32% versus an all-road trucking solution. (ben)
