Green truck to clean up in Aarhus
The battery-electric e-Econic truck for municipal use is now also in operation in Aarhus, Denmark, on the east coast of Jutland, where the waste disposal company Urbaser is deploying five of these Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Already 20 e-Econics are in use in other Danish cities such as Copenhagen and Vejle. The waste disposal company has ordered a total of almost 50 vehicles, which will now be handed over successively. That brings the total e-Econic order intake in Denmark to above 100 units.
Almost fifty vehicles are set to be delivered to Urbaser in the coming months. The low-floor truck has a permissible gross mass of 27 t and three battery packs and can be charged with up to 160 kW. (ben)
