Green light for nine new routes
Hong Kong Air Cargo (HKAC) has received approval from the Hong Kong Air Transport Licensing Authority to operate scheduled cargo flights to nine new routes.
In December 2020, HKAC formally submitted applications to add Chennai, Delhi, Jakarta, Liege, Manila, Melbourne, Sydney, Milan and Tokyo as scheduled service destinations.
The airline previously operated chartered services to most of these cities regularly and established a solid foundation in preparation for the new services. The newly received licence approvals will allow HKAC to plan, forecast and service customers and the cities with confidence.
The airline which qualified the development as a "significant milestone", currently operates a fleet of five A330-200 freighters and has recently welcomed new pilot recruits. (ah)
