Green Fleet stocked up with Bio-LNG truck
British retailer Primark is investing in a fleet of new natural gas-powered trucks for its UK transport operations. Having already taken delivery of new, higher capacity LSTs (longer semi trailer) last year, the new trucks form the next step in Primark's green energy strategy.
Ten new Iveco Stralis NP 460 4x2 tractor units recently joined the Primark fleet to help stores and delivery hubs prepare for the provisional re-opening of Primark stores in England and Wales on 12 April and Scotland on 26 April.
The natural power trucks run solely on bio-liquified natural gas (Bio-LNG), reducing fuel consumption by up to 15%, particulate matter emissions by 99% and NO2 emissions by 90% compared to diesel. (ben)
