Greece goes paperless
The Greek government has joined the e-CMR Protocol and become the 35th country to accede to the digital version of the United Nations Convention for the Carriage of Goods (CMR).
The e-CMR standard will enable the Greek logistics sector to offer more efficient services to its clients, both domestically and internationally, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) said.
By eliminating paperwork, e-CMR lowers handling costs, eliminates administrative and invoicing delays, and reduces discrepancies at delivery sites. It also enhances transparency and security along the logistics chain. The access to e-CMR follows the joint advocacy of IRU and the Hellenic Federation of Road Transport (OFAE) as well as e-CMR trials. (ben)
