Great success for GW
A net revenue of EUR 2.47 billion, an equity ratio of 63% and consistent expansions into new markets: Gebrüder Weiss looks back on a successful 2023.
Leveraging its strong market position and customer base, the Austrian logistics provider worked against global trends of recession to stay on track with its growth strategy. The air & sea, land transport and logistics segments, the main pillars of its business, saw stable, consistent growth.
Based on this performance, Gebrüder Weiss was able to implement an investment programme involving the record sum of EUR 187 million to expand into new markets in Germany, the USA, and Southeastern Europe. The company also made progress in terms of digitalisation and sustainability. Using new warehouse analysis software, it now provides customers with enhanced transparency in freight tracking and ETA estimates.
In terms of emissions targets, Gebrüder Weiss already meets three-quarters of its own electricity requirements in the DACH region with its own solar power. But it also invested into new projects for the expansion of its photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle fleet last year. (mk)
