Great demand for eco-friendly traffic in Sweden
In November last year, Kombiverkehr joined forces with DB Cargo Scandinavia and ferry operator TT-Line to launch a regular-interval direct service within Sweden, carrying trailers and containers in both directions between the cities of Trellebord and Halsberg.
This year, the service will be increased from three to five round trips per week. Spedition Bode, a freight forwarder, is one of the main customers on this link. On the train route from Duisburg (Germany) to Halsberg via the Skandinavienkai dock in Lübeck, the company cuts 1.2 t of CO2 equivalents per cargo load of 25 t. This corresponds to a reduction of around 60% compared to the road-based alternative. (ben)
