Gothenburg train shuttle launched

The new train is operated by TFK Logistics and runs twice a week between Pitea in northern Sweden and the Port of Gothenburg in southern Sweden. The wagons are loaded at both Shorelink in the port of Pitea and Stenvalls Trä's rail-connected terminal at Lövholmen before departing to the port of Gothenburg.

Here, the containers are transported to the container terminal operated by APM Terminals, where they are lifted directly onto ships.

Containesr that are loaded in Pitea can continue their journey on a direct ocean-going vessel leaving Gothenburg just 48 hours later. The shuttle also carries tank containers, with trailer wagons to be available as from March this year. (ben)
