Good news from Volga-Dnepr Group
Volga-Dnepr Group, which is believed to be struggling with heavy debts, assisted in the Mérieux Foundation's efforts to control the Ebola virus disease epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by undertaking a special cargo flight last week carrying mobile bio-medical laboratories.
One of their fleet of twelve AN-124-100 aircraft was especially positioned in Lyon airport (France) ten days ago for the urgent needs of the foundation and its partner Bioport Logistique. The emergency flight carried three 40 ft "plug and play" mobile container laboratories built in the Rhône-Alpes region and a mobile laboratory truck belonging to the Praesens Foundation, Belgium.
The cargo was transported to Kigali, Rwanda, by the unique capabilities of the aircraft before being transferred overland to Goma, DRC. (ah)
