Going electric with zero-emission vessels
Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, has taken a major step towards sustainable port operations by introducing two fully electric tugboats in Abu Dhabi and the GCC’s first all-electric pilot boat.
The ‘Artemis EF-12 Pilot’ features hydrofoiling eFoiler technology, cutting drag and energy use by up to 85%. Two Damen ‘RSD-E Tug 2513s’, including a Guinness-recognised unit, offer 70 t bollard pull and fast charging – supporting many operations on a single charge. These additions to the Khalifa Port fleet are part of Noatum’s broader decarbonisation strategy.
