GLS Austria raises its prices

Parcel services provider GLS Austria is raising its prices in response to the still ongoing increase of personnel costs, because the company is determined to maintain the current quality of its parcel deliveries in future. GLS Austria introduced price rises already last year.

“In the Austrian transport industry, the staff situation remains difficult. At the same time, ensuring high-quality deliveries is becoming ever more challenging, particularly due to the growing e-commerce sector,” says Klaus Schädle, GLS group area managing director.

“We must take account of this development, which is similar to what is happing in many other European countries, in order to cover our costs while continuing to operate efficiently.”  Prices will increase by an average 5.5%.

GLS Austria is investing in many areas to create sufficient capacities for the growing parcel volumes – especially in the autumn and the Christmas season. Here, the provider focuses on the further development and training of its employees as well as long-term cooperation agreements with its transport partners on the last mile. (mw)
