Global Crossing Airlines opens the cargo door
Miami-based Global Crossing Airlines Group has celebrated a key milestone for its first A321 P2F aircraft by ST Engineering with a door cutting ceremony. The aircraft is currently undergoing conversion at the latter's airframe facility in San Antonio.
One year ago, Global X and ST Engineering had signed an LOI to lease up to five A321 P2F. In addition, the airline will also use the engineering and maintenance services provided by Stengg to support the operation of its aircraft.
Ed Wegel, chair and CEO of Global X: "Their support has been crucial to us as we launch our cargo division. We are in the certification process with the FAA to place the A321 P2F on our certificate and we expect to be certified by 1 October 2022. We expect to operate as many as 25 A321 freighters by the end of 2025." (ah)
