Glauco Martinelli – farewell to a pioneer!
The air cargo community bids farewell to Glauco Martinelli, founder of ATC and a pioneer of GSA representation in Italy. Martinelli passed away on 27 March 2025.
His career began in 1960 with BOAC, followed by senior cargo roles at South African Airways and Alitalia. In 1979, he founded ATC in Milan, likely to have been Italy’s first GSA, securing Air Canada as its launch customer.
Under his leadership, ATC became the country’s top-performing GSA for over a decade. In 2012, he integrated the company into the ECS Group, handing over leadership to his son, Sauro Martinelli.
Today, further to the ECS Group, ATC stands as Italy’s largest GSA. Glauco Martinelli will be remembered as a visionary and dedicated industry figure whose legacy continues to shape air cargo in Italy and beyond)
