GIE France PCS banks on digitisation
France is pushing its logistics industry. The interest group (GIE) France PCS offers concrete solutions to make the country’s logistics industry more competitive.
Launched at the end of 2020 in line with the recommendations of the Hémar-Daher report, France PCS underlines France’s considerable advance in the digitisation of supply chains and cooperates with state services to lay the foundations for a new digital platform for French foreign trade.
Digitisation is seen as a means to speed up the flow of goods by automating processes. It also helps to secure the logistics chain by providing reliable information in real time, expanding the traceability of goods and anticipating customs clearance formalities, amongst others.
A major goal is to improve the French "doing business" indicator within the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI). (sh)
