Ghent links up southern Europe with Scandinavia
On Monday, 11 March 2019 a new train service will be launched between the port of Ghent (Belgium) and the terminal of Luxembourg’s railway company CFL in Bettenbourg, as an alternative to container transport by road on this route.
To begin with, the shuttle will run five times a week, providing links to four rail routes from Luxembourg to destinations in Spain, southern France, Italy and Turkey.
With the new service, goods can be carried by rail from southern and southeast Europe to the DFDS terminal in Ghent and from there by ship to Gothenburg (Sweden). (ben)
