Germany and Mongolia sign agreement
Among other things, the agreement redefines the framework conditions for road freight transport. Until now, Mongolian companies in Germany and German companies in Mongolia had to apply for a special permit for transport to and/or through Germany and Mongolia, respectively. In future, logistics companies will receive the licences directly in their country.
The agreement provides for exceptions to the authorisation requirement, for example for the transport of medicines and other goods intended for emergency aid. It also regulates the obligations for drivers, such as the carrying of certain documents and the compulsory rules on driving times and rest periods. (ben)
