German logistics companies partner up
DPD Germany and the Berlin-based logtech company Instafreight are entering into a strategic partnership to further digitise and optimise the purchasing and management of additional capacity in DPD’s full truckload network.
In the partnership with DPB Germany, Instafreight acts as a fourth party logistics provider, with its platform offering freight spaces from a total of over 25,000 carriers. DPD already multiplied its carrier base in a pilot project lasting around a year.
In their search for freight spaces, customers can now select the best offer for the desired route, and the transport order is transferred directly to the respective carrier via the platform.
Instafreight specialises in land transport services in Europe. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Berlin, the company handles full truckloads, less than truckloads and less than container loads. With its technology, Instafreight digitises and automates transport operations. Besides reducing costs, Instafreight and DPD have also jointly digitised the various processes related to partner management. (mk)
