Geodis’s biofuel truck fleet in UAE

Geodis has reported that it has introduced a fleet of eleven Euro 4 and Euro 6 biofuel-powered trucks in the UAE, reinforcing its commitment to reducing carbon emissions while maintaining operational efficiency.

The initiative supports Geodis’s goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 42% (scopes 1 & 2) and reducing carbon intensity in subcontracted transport by 25% (scope 3) by 2030.

The fleet, comprising two 10 t, six 6 t trucks, and three 50 ft tractor-trailers, will serve the high-tech, retail, pharma, automotive and industrial sectors, providing freight transport at airports, warehouses and retail stores.

“Relying on a new fleet of trucks is a critical component of our growth strategy for the Middle East region,” Chris Cahill, managing director for Geodis in the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, said. The move is in line with the company’s broader sustainability efforts in the Middle East. (js)
