Geodis’s biofuel truck fleet in UAE
Geodis has reported that it has introduced a fleet of eleven Euro 4 and Euro 6 biofuel-powered trucks in the UAE, reinforcing its commitment to reducing carbon emissions while maintaining operational efficiency.
The initiative supports Geodis’s goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 42% (scopes 1 & 2) and reducing carbon intensity in subcontracted transport by 25% (scope 3) by 2030.
The fleet, comprising two 10 t, six 6 t trucks, and three 50 ft tractor-trailers, will serve the high-tech, retail, pharma, automotive and industrial sectors, providing freight transport at airports, warehouses and retail stores.
“Relying on a new fleet of trucks is a critical component of our growth strategy for the Middle East region,” Chris Cahill, managing director for Geodis in the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, said.
