Geodis expands footprint in Sweden
It is a first for Geodis: in order to bring its contract logistics services to the Swedish market, Geodis is opening a 16,000 sqm facility at Arendal, close to Gothenburg.
Effective 1 December 2021, the new facility will cover the full range of warehousing and distribution services, including receiving goods to WMS, inventory storage, picking and packing, case palletisation, value added services, returns processing, quality control and distribution. Geodis' managing director for Scandinavia, Magnus Tornerhjelm, will oversee the new warehouse.
Arendal is located 15 km from Gothenburg and also has direct connections to the regional motorway network with access to Stockholm and Malmö, Oslo in Norway, and the wider Nordic region.
In Sweden, the Geodis group operates from eight locations (Helsingborg, Jönköping, Borås, Norrköping, Lund, Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö) and employs 350 people. (sh)
