Geodis ambitious also for 2022

France-headquartered Geodis Group saw significant growth in 2021. While revenues surged to EUR 10.9 billion (+28% versus 2020 and +33% versus 2019), ebitda took a similar leap, amounting to EUR 948 million (+33% versus 2020 and +38% versus 2019).

Freight forwarding was the most successful division with rising revenues by 66% compared to 2019 to EUR 4.9 billion. Contract logistics business witnessed a boom in e-commerce especially in USA and Europe.

The other divisions also performed well, as Geodis said: "In a context of extreme tension in the air and sea freight market, Geodis managed to secure transport capacities to ensure the continuity of its customers’ supply chains."

Furthermore and in line with its so-called “Ambition 2023” plan, the group acquired companies like Pekaes and Transport Perrier and is planning to strengthen the road transport network for palletised freight in Poland and France. The group has also purchased land in Venlo, the strategic logistics hub in Holland close to the German border, with the intention of building a 130,000 sqm logistics facility. (sh)
