
Gebrüder Weiss reports 2024 growth
Gebrüder Weiss closed 2024 with EUR 2.71 billion in net revenue, a 10% increase over the previous year. The air and sea freight division saw the highest growth, rising 21% to EUR 939 million, driven by network expansion and increased transpacific trade, as the company reports. Land transport and logistics revenue grew by 5% to EUR 1.52 billion. Partly owned DPD Austria processed 63.2 million parcels, reflecting steady demand.
Investments of EUR 124 million focused on expanding logistics hubs, “modernisation measures, environment-friendly power generation and e-mobility,” as the company stated. The firm has advanced its decarbonisation efforts, operating 34 photovoltaic systems and introducing electric trucks in European markets.
CEO Wolfram Senger-Weiss highlighted the company’s focus on digitalisation, infrastructure and sustainability to navigate economic and industry challenges. (js)
