Gebrüder Weiss: new chair for supervisory board
Wolfgang Niessner, who headed the logistics company’s management board from 2005 to 2018, was appointed chairman of the supervisory board at its constituent meeting on 19 June 2023.
Niessner succeeds Rudolf Christian Stiehl, who has held the position for the last four years. Niessner, Gebrüder Weiss CEO since 2005, led the company through an era marked by consistent internationalisation and economic success, until he handed over operational management to Wolfram Senger-Weiss at the end of 2018. Niessner was appointed to the supervisory board in 2019.
Gebrüder Weiss Holding, based in Lauterach, Austria, is a globally operative full-service logistics provider with about 8,400 employees at 180 company-owned locations. In the last fiscal year (2022), it posted annual sales of EUR 3 billion. (cj)
