Gebrüder Weiss acquires forwarder KK+M in Tyrol
Gebrüder Weiss is taking over the freight forwarder Koler, Kuhn & Merk Speditions (KK+M) in Lechaschau (Reutte district in Tyrol, Austria). „With KK+M we can cover another important region in Tyrol and close to southern Germany for our customers. We will take over all the employees and intend to expand in that location,” says Hannes Mayr, regional director west at Gebrüder Weiss. The parties agreed not to disclose price details.
With ten employees, the company offers the full range of logistics services, including overland transport, air freight and sea freight, customs handling as well as relocation and parcel services. The company was put up for sale, because the owner Dietmar Koler wishes to retire and has no successor.
KK+M will operate under its current name until the end of 2019. Effective 1 January 2020, the forwarder will be renamed Gebrüder Weiss Filiale Reutte and report to the company’s subsidiary in Hall (Tyrol). More investments into the Reutte office are planned for the medium term. (mw)
