Gearing up for a decarbonised future
Contargo has phased in the first of six electric powered container trucks in Duisburg (Germany). The move is another step forward in the company’s plans to decarbonise by 2050 at the latest. The new vehicle is a DAF tractor, which the Dutch manufacturer delivered to Rhenus Trucking.
Service provider Rhenus will provide the e-truck and all the other e-vehicles in its fleet to Contargo. The fleet's first e-truck will be deployed in the DIT Duisburg intermodal terminal. DIT is set to receive a second e-truck within a few days.
Over the course of the current year, four more 44 t trucks will be gradually delivered to the Contargo terminals in Neuss and Emmerich (both Germany). (ben)
