GAC's Seoul debut
GAC Group, which provides shipping and logistics services in the Asia-Pacific region, recently opened an office in Seoul, South Korea. The company thus continues its efforts to engage with the expanding South Korean market, which now accounts for more than 10% of the global maritime trade.
The shipping industry in South Korea is on an upward trend, with expectations of a 7.9% increase in exports by 2024. GAC seeks to strengthen its offerings and presence in this area.
The Seoul office also allows the company to get involved in South Korea's developing sector of renewable offshore wind energy, providing ship agency services and support for wind power projects. Keun Jeong Lim, who has a background in the local shipping industry, heads the Seoul office. (pb)
