GAC Ireland and GBF UK: a first joint milestone
GAC Ireland, a global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services, and Green Biofuels (GBF) have completed the debut lifting of biofuels from Ireland’s first clean fuels terminal.
It is a major milestone in their cooperation: GAC operated and maintained GBF’s Cork terminal from March 2023, and the first 39,000-litre Gd⁺ fuel, which is made from renewable feedstocks and dramatically reduces harmful emissions by up to 90%, was lifted in April.
Thanks to GAC’s “superb safety, environmental and reliability ethos”, GBF “believes these are the principal ingredients required to successfully deliver a visionary, new facility,” (Alex Azadegan, GBF’s operations manager).
Nicholas Browne, managing director of GAC UK & Ireland: “Together with GAC Bunker Fuels, we are committed to facilitating the growth of biofuels as an alternative fuel of the future in UK and Ireland.” (lh)
