GAC Germany up and running
The GAC Group has started 2021 by expanding services in its European network. GAC Germany began operations on 4 January, offering ship agency, husbandry, bunker fuel, dry dock and other services, in cooperation with the group’s ship spares logistics specialist, GAC Marine Logistics, which has been operating in the port of Hamburg since 2014. GAC Germany will now supply some of the more than 14,000 vessels that call at German ports every year.
Thomas Okbo, the GAC Group’s vice-president for Europe and Africa, pointed out that “the establishment of GAC Germany strengthens our integrated shipping and logistics service portfolio in northern Europe. Shipowners and operators in the energy, dry and liquid bulk and automotive sectors, amongst others, can benefit from our increased presence.”
GAC Germany is headed by Thies Holm and is based just north of Hamburg, Germany’s busiest maritime port. (cd)
